Papa.

There is one beautiful thing about getting older, we get to make more memories with the ones we love. I remember being tiny and thinking you were the strongest man in the world. You have more love for people, than anyone I have ever known. I have seen you face set backs, with diligence and faith.
You came round to my house and you were wearing those boots. You've worn them a million times.I took a picture of them. I told you I was practicing with the light. But the truth was I wanted to remember you just being there. Just sharing your company. If I were a reflection of you, I'd be amazing! I love you papa!x

Alfie.

I know its his way of saying thanks. You made me look great. Again. This is what his trying to lick the lens means. He's always a perfect model. With the blinking of the eyes, continuous moving, but that oh so handsome face!
Me and Jim took Alfie for a walk in the park. Its beautiful, and Alfie wasn't looking too shabby either!

Jennifer and Andrew.

Jen and i have know each other for a few years now. When she asked me to document her wedding, I was delighted. I knew that Jen had a plan in mind for day and that it would be executed just as she wanted. I first met Andrew on the day of the wedding. As soon as you met him, you see it. His love for Jen. Its the way he regards her, the way he looks at her and the way they touch. Jen and Andrew had a beautiful ceremony at The Rendezvous Hotel in Skipton. The ceremony room over looks the canal, and the weather was perfect.

Jen and Andrew, I know that you will be having a fabulous time away on holiday. Enjoy every minute! x

Something sweet.

I see it as I come up the stairs. It's hot beautiful sunshine outside and I know it's going to taste good. But, how can i? After an hour of sweating it out at the gym! Promising that this will be the summer that I'l have that beach body! So I walk straight past. Yes siree, no caramel frappuccino for me. Even if you are offering extra lashings of cream! Me and my Evian bottle jump in the car and head home.
But then in the kitchen I see the cut out on the fridge and my sweet tooth starts to nag. I give in. So, I throw the ingrediants into a bowl, mix it and bake for an hour. You see, I can say just about say no to something sweet once. But it aint going to happen twice!

Whala  - my Lemon Drizzle!

Craig and Laura.

Last week I met Craig and Laura in Horsforth Park for their engagement session.  We had a beautiful evening of sunshine and decided to walk round the park soaking up the evening heat. We were joined by Oscar( white),Jake(tan) and poppy(small) the family dogs. These pooches could give any models a run for their money. They were always ready for their close up, and were giving me the best pouts.
Craig and Laura are a great couple. They make each other laugh and smile.Constantly.They said that they were nervous about the session and didn't  really know what to expect. But, they didn't take any time at all in getting relaxed and enjoying themselves.  I am really looking forward to their wedding in just a couple of weeks time at Lotherton Hall. They have so many really cool things planned to make their wedding completely them!!
Enjoy your images and happy Monday!

Date of Pity!

They were always a weekly occasion, our date nights. Me and Jim would  go out for the evening, dinner, drinks, what ever we fancied. Just giving us a chance to get dressed up and spend some time together.Every since we got back from our trip we have hit the ground running... Literally not stopping. From weddings  to Engagement shoots, I haven't really left the house. Now, my casual wardrobe used to be okay, but seeing how Continental still haven't given me my clothes back I'm in a worse state than ever before. This was confirmed when Jim asked me  would I like to  go out for dinner  told me we were going out for dinner. You think, ahh how sweet. The reason we were going out for dinner was because I was looking bad (and going slightly insane) from being in my way below average house clothes. Permanently. And he thought I needed to get out! After taking a look at myself, I laughed. Note to self - must make more of an effort. But then again for a free meal, I could look this bad again ;-)
And because a post is always better with a picture, this is a snippet of an engagement shoot I am working on.

Happy Thursday!

Benjamin and Jodi;Wedding.

When I arrived at the house in the morning, everyone was calm and excited. Organisation was in control of this operation ;-)  Jewellery - together, waiting to be worn. Flowers - together, waiting to be held. Dresses- lined up - with name tags - waiting to be shown off.And a bride, smiling, waiting to say I do.

The girls were so much fun to watch getting ready. A quick dance or song could and did happen at any moment (all dancers in their younger years). Lorraine, her mum just laughs and carries on.  She was on hand all  morning with a needle and thread finishing last minute details on the  dresses and keeping a check on everyone.Lauraine, you are amazing.
Jodi's father was not with us that day, he had sadly passed a couple of years before. But the memory of him was every where to be seen. A picture of him in a locket, was sewn on to the front of Jodi's bouquet. Allowing him to still walk her down the aisle.

At the church, Benjamin was his usual self. Calm and collected.Waiting for his bride. After the ceremony Jodi and Ben had arranged for us to take formal pictures in the park. Giving us about 45 minutes to ourselves, with the bridal party. This was perfect, it gives the bride and groom  time alone and time (not rushed) to get some beautiful  images.
The tables at the reception were laid with fresh flowers, and had pictures instead of table numbers of  them, in various locations that were special to them. The seating plan was a map of the UK, and the destination your table. Genius.
After  the wedding breakfast came the speeches. Word of warning to future brides. I may be found behind the lens crying at speeches. Its not uncommon!  Jodi's father had written a speech before he passed, a secret surprise that Lorraine would read to Jodi on her wedding day.It was beautiful and heartfelt.

I cannot say enough good things about  you both. Your family and Friends are testament to your happiness.
Together, Ben and Jodi are better. They are beautiful inside and out, and have a genuine love. One that will last a lifetime. They are writing their own story.Everyday, filling a page with love, life and plenty of laughter. Enjoy your pictures.
