Garry and Emma

They already knew each other through mutual friends. They had already seen each other before. But now a question was asked and on the 12th June 2009 Garry and Emma had their first date. That night they got on.Like a house. On fire. Emma knew from then on this was serious.Their lives had just changed. Forever.
Emma and Garry met again that weekend,it was her birthday. A question was asked. Garry asked if they could date. Exclusively. And Emma, she said yes.
At a motown concert 6 months later a question was asked. This time it was a proposal.A commitment. A friendship. A romance. A love story. Garry asked Emma to marry him.And Emma. She said Yes!

When we met to shoot their pre wedding shoot on Sunday I was nervous. This was the first real time we had metand there was snow. But I don't know why I was nervous, because Garry and Emma were a dream to shoot. They laugh together all the time. They love each other and it shows.

Garry and Emma I cant wait to for your wedding. We're going to have fun!

Me and my 85mm.

My love affair with the 85mm started back when I used the 20D mounted with a 50mm. With the crop factor I was roughly shooting at 85 and I loved it!

I haven't used the lens yet, but am wanting to try it this Sunday for Garry and Emma's pre wedding shoot at East Riddlesden Hall.

Is it an L lens? No. Sadly not.Not this time. But I know that I am going lurve it!

Jacob.

I was so thrilled to be able to this shoot. I have known Janie for about 2 years. She is such a nice person. Random and Fun! When her and Gareth wedd last year, their plans would at some point involve starting a family of their own. Just over a year later, they have started a family all of their own. Just the 3 of them. And of course Rocky. The cat.

He laid there. Still. Quiet.Content. Baby Jacob was on best behaviour. He must have liked the look of the lens the way he sat there and gave no trouble at all.Just posing. Beautifully. At 4 weeks old, life is good. Sleep, feed, look cute, sleep, feed, look cute... ;-)

Janie and Gareth you really have a handsome one here. x
I think this is my favourite shot from the day. He just looks sooo content.

Could this be the cheeky smile that we have been waiting for??.......

Such a boy pose.

Thank you.

It wasn't what I had planned. My day was set to go another way. I was supposed to be at East Riddlesden Hall doing a pre-wedding shoot. However, there had been a family emergency with the wedding party. So, I thought I would go to Keighley shared church where the wedding will be taking place to do a recce. When I got there, masses of people had the same idea. But. They weren't there for a recce. They were there to remember.Remember the men and women before, who sacrificed their lives. Remember the men and women who still sacrifice their lives. As I sat through the service, with the light dancing through the stain class windows, I felt in heavy in heart. And remembered. Remembered the men and women before me, who sacrificed their lives. Remembered the men and women who still sacrifice their lives. Thank you. You make me proud.

Olive May.

I'm sat in.Candles lit.Lights low.Darkness outside. I'm relaxed and content. And oh so happy with today's post. A couple of Sundays ago I was asked to document the new stage in Olive Mays footsteps, a challenge I happily accepted. The first time I documented Olive was just under a year old, she is now seventeen months. She walks, kinda talks, smiles and laughs.A lot. I know that she will continue to grace my blog as her footsteps grow.
We shot on a Lazy Sunday afternoon at Claire's house. The light was perfect, and then hens were great props! ;-)

Another great thing I was able to do with this shoot was introduce my new personal website for clients. When I do weddings or portraits I offer my clients a website, with their own URL which is all about them. This can passed to friends and family and can even be posted and tagged in facebook.

Follow this link to take a look at the personalised website. Olive-May.Margauritaphotography.com

Olive May thank you for being so utterly adorable.

Happy Wednesday.x

Laura & Tim

So it seems that I am always getting friends to help me out.. This was no exception! I wanted to get out into the autumn weather and enjoy the season. The leaves on the floor, autumn skies etc.etc. So. I roped in a couple of friends- Laura and Tim. Who just loved getting there picture taken! ha. I think they felt a little daft at the beginning - who doesn't?! But then they relaxed into it. Naturally.
Laura and Tim thank you so much for getting in front of my camera. You both look fab!

And is usual style - below is a vimeo. Enjoy. All images can be seen here.

Happy Birthday to me.

My first one and I missed it! Tuesday was my first anniversary of a year of blogging, and oh my has that year flown. Another gentle reminder from Father Time that he aint waiting for now one and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Starting to blog my photography adventure was one of the best things that I ever did. It started out as something only for me, my own tiny place of space. To remind me of the learning curves, the highs, the lows, the waiting times and desperado times. To my amazement and happiness (very happy)other people have decided to stop by now and again to see some of my story, and some, some even wrote a little note to tell me so! ;-)
Looking back over the year I am happy to see changes. Changes in me and my style.

So Happy First Birthday Margaurita Photography. And may you have many, many more.

Feeling the moment.

I am a list person through and through. I list everything .My day to day list will start like this – 1.Get up! These are my sorts of lists ;-) Whilst looking over a recent shot list that I compiled for the wedding photo run, I made myself smile by the little side note that was added .Above all, have fun and feel the moment. Look for love. Eyes and laughter!* And really if we get down to it – isn’t that what’s its all about. Having fun and feeling the moment, smiling through the eyes and loving with laughter?!
This then got me thinking about why I take photographs and why I love wedding photography so much. It’s because of the feeling! I read A LOT of blogs. But there are a select few that are staples – the ones I go back to. Every. Day. They don’t necessarily have fancy pages, with unbelievable imagery, but, they do have feeling. Bags of it. That’s what I want to give back to my clients. The feeling of love. The feeling of their love the day that they declare to the world that they say I do. I do to commitment. I do to trust. I do to patience. I do to love. I do to forever.
Happy Wednesday. Xx

Autumn Fun..

The last time I took pictures of him was January. Months ago. Since then he has been to Afghanistan. Again. Dave I told you that you would grace my blog again.

It was fun taking zoolander poses at the park - and your pop out from behind the tree idea - genius! ;-) Kelly you look really lovely in these pictures. I hope you both enjoy.
