Craig and Laura.

Last week I met Craig and Laura in Horsforth Park for their engagement session.  We had a beautiful evening of sunshine and decided to walk round the park soaking up the evening heat. We were joined by Oscar( white),Jake(tan) and poppy(small) the family dogs. These pooches could give any models a run for their money. They were always ready for their close up, and were giving me the best pouts.
Craig and Laura are a great couple. They make each other laugh and smile.Constantly.They said that they were nervous about the session and didn't  really know what to expect. But, they didn't take any time at all in getting relaxed and enjoying themselves.  I am really looking forward to their wedding in just a couple of weeks time at Lotherton Hall. They have so many really cool things planned to make their wedding completely them!!
Enjoy your images and happy Monday!

Date of Pity!

They were always a weekly occasion, our date nights. Me and Jim would  go out for the evening, dinner, drinks, what ever we fancied. Just giving us a chance to get dressed up and spend some time together.Every since we got back from our trip we have hit the ground running... Literally not stopping. From weddings  to Engagement shoots, I haven't really left the house. Now, my casual wardrobe used to be okay, but seeing how Continental still haven't given me my clothes back I'm in a worse state than ever before. This was confirmed when Jim asked me  would I like to  go out for dinner  told me we were going out for dinner. You think, ahh how sweet. The reason we were going out for dinner was because I was looking bad (and going slightly insane) from being in my way below average house clothes. Permanently. And he thought I needed to get out! After taking a look at myself, I laughed. Note to self - must make more of an effort. But then again for a free meal, I could look this bad again ;-)
And because a post is always better with a picture, this is a snippet of an engagement shoot I am working on.

Happy Thursday!

Matthew and Joanne;Bingley

Matthew and Joanne are getting married this September. It seems like it was only a moment ago that they booked me. Not months. But, as always time is flying! For their pre wedding shoot we walked around Bingley, where they live and will get married. We walked through some woods and found some amazing light and then headed to check out the church where they will be getting married.
Joanne and Matthew fit together. Their conversation flows freely and comfortably. And Matthew knows just what to say to get her to smile. The weather was amazing. We were blessed with lots and lots of sunshine, so decided to lay in the grass and soak some of it in! I am so looking forward to their wedding!!

A day of firsts.

Bang on the dot of 6am  the alarm sounds. I get up knowing that I cant afford the much wanted 10minute snooze. After showering and dressing, I grab a quick bite and then double check my bag. Its all there.5D, back up and lenses. Jim takes me to the airport,I sit and wait.
Last Thursday was a different type of day. It was a day of firsts. It was the first day of my actual job title being a photographer. I took the plunge and stepped out of my 9-5 and have decided to commit to making this  dream flourish and work. Having a partner who believes in your vision, allows you to set your goals high and run after your dreams, is amazing! Having a family you never say you cant, but always say work hard, keep your faith and believe in yourself is a blessing. I couldn't have taken  this first step without them.
It was also my first wedding  overseas. I was flown to Ireland by Shelly and Alex,  to document their wedding. It was an amazing time and cannot wait to be able to show you what a beautiful couple they are. Inside and out!
I wanted to leave you with a little pre-view.

Jason & Jess;5 Rise Locks.

I think this could be classed as my first sunshine shoot of the year. It’s been overdue and long may it continue. Jason has been a friend of my brother’s for a fair few years now. He’s basically like family. And Jess, I met for the first time at my sister’s wedding last year. As we took to the 5 Rise Locks, they showed me just how amazing they are at rocking photo shoots. As the saying goes, the camera lurves you!

What you notice first about them is how relaxed they are with each other. The way they walk together. Talk together. Laugh together. You see from the offset that they have the connection and complement each other. Completely. She’s the sweet to his sour. The ying to his yang. The peanut to his butter (you see where I’m going with this). What they have, works!

Being around each other makes their smiles grow and their laughter flow easy-which makes for beautiful picture taking. Jason and Jess, I am thrilled and feel privileged to be documenting your wedding in July! X Enjoy your pictures. X

Harold Park;Ben and Jodi

They smile when you ask them how they met. They both share in telling  you the story.Their story.

Ben had just finished an interview at Oxford University Press. An interview that  would quite literally change his life. After the interview he was taken downstairs and shown the exit by an  attractive girl.  A girl he found so attractive that she would grace the pages of the journal that  he kept at the time. The girl, she was Jodi.

Ben was a successful candidate! Stealing time over shared breaks and long lunches Jodi and Ben realised that they shared something more than just a  workspace. They shared a friendship.A love. A future.

Ben and Jodi are writing their own story. Everyday, filling  a page with love, life and plenty of laughter.

As we walked around the park and talked about life. It was obvious to see what a perfect match  they are for each other. So at ease. As real love is.

Ben and Jodi, you are a dream to photograph! I cannot wait for you wedding day.
