Matthew and Joanne;Bingley

Matthew and Joanne are getting married this September. It seems like it was only a moment ago that they booked me. Not months. But, as always time is flying! For their pre wedding shoot we walked around Bingley, where they live and will get married. We walked through some woods and found some amazing light and then headed to check out the church where they will be getting married.
Joanne and Matthew fit together. Their conversation flows freely and comfortably. And Matthew knows just what to say to get her to smile. The weather was amazing. We were blessed with lots and lots of sunshine, so decided to lay in the grass and soak some of it in! I am so looking forward to their wedding!!

Dusky pinks, green tea and books.

Anyone  who knows me well enough,  knows that I LOVE thrifting in charity shops for  vintage finds.  Would absorb green tea though my pores if I could. And, will literally read until I  cant stay awake. A book worm if you would.
I wanted to write myself  a note.  To remind me that on the first day of my new life, I did what I love. As I  walked down Bangor high street I scoured all the charity shops I  could find.  I came out  with a fabulous  dusky pink pleated skirt, just me. When the rain  started to drizzle, I took  myself  into a coffee shop over looking the marine, grabbed a green tea and in a corner read until my hearts content. It’s the small things in life that make me smile.

As, I was walking around the old seaside town, I  checked up on my Nana’s old house. The house where my parents met. I love looking at this house. Walking along the front I came across a sign that made me smile. And, if I took anything home with me from my trip to Ireland it was this-the recipe for a happy life!

A day of firsts.

Bang on the dot of 6am  the alarm sounds. I get up knowing that I cant afford the much wanted 10minute snooze. After showering and dressing, I grab a quick bite and then double check my bag. Its all there.5D, back up and lenses. Jim takes me to the airport,I sit and wait.
Last Thursday was a different type of day. It was a day of firsts. It was the first day of my actual job title being a photographer. I took the plunge and stepped out of my 9-5 and have decided to commit to making this  dream flourish and work. Having a partner who believes in your vision, allows you to set your goals high and run after your dreams, is amazing! Having a family you never say you cant, but always say work hard, keep your faith and believe in yourself is a blessing. I couldn't have taken  this first step without them.
It was also my first wedding  overseas. I was flown to Ireland by Shelly and Alex,  to document their wedding. It was an amazing time and cannot wait to be able to show you what a beautiful couple they are. Inside and out!
I wanted to leave you with a little pre-view.

Team work.

It’s just in his nature to help. His speciality -  the household chores! Chasing the brush as you sweep. Pawing the brush as you wash-up. Standing  on the strands as you mop. Checking everything is OK inside the washing machine. The list – it goes on. However, his latest and most helpful skill his helping you whilst at the computer. He likes to remind you to take 5 minutes to look away from the screen – a micro break in the office world. Thanks’ Figaro, I’m looking forward to you  being my new Co-worker! x

Sowing.

Is it an old and boring way to look at things? Is it a little sad to want to plant your own vegetables and herbs? I don't know, but  i do. I don't know why so much, because every plant my mum gives me I tend to kill.. I would show you, but its embarrassing! So, with the weather being A-mazing this weekend, i thought I may as well  get outside and start sowing. Armed with seeds, soil, grow bags, spades and a 4 legged friend to help, I sat outside in the sunshine and happily, old and boringly planted my garden. (Lets hope they don't end up like the house plants!) Any body else like to garden-or have tips for keeping plants alive? - It would make my mother proud ;-) x

Jason & Jess;5 Rise Locks.

I think this could be classed as my first sunshine shoot of the year. It’s been overdue and long may it continue. Jason has been a friend of my brother’s for a fair few years now. He’s basically like family. And Jess, I met for the first time at my sister’s wedding last year. As we took to the 5 Rise Locks, they showed me just how amazing they are at rocking photo shoots. As the saying goes, the camera lurves you!

What you notice first about them is how relaxed they are with each other. The way they walk together. Talk together. Laugh together. You see from the offset that they have the connection and complement each other. Completely. She’s the sweet to his sour. The ying to his yang. The peanut to his butter (you see where I’m going with this). What they have, works!

Being around each other makes their smiles grow and their laughter flow easy-which makes for beautiful picture taking. Jason and Jess, I am thrilled and feel privileged to be documenting your wedding in July! X Enjoy your pictures. X

Treasure hunt.

Easter came a little earlier round my neck of the woods this year. With my upcoming travels I knew that I wouldn't have to time to see Grace and Riley  for a few weeks(my nephew and niece), so thought we would have a egg treasure hunt at the weekend just gone. As they prepared their egg baskets inside I scrambled round the complex hiding eggs and putting up signs. Obviously not in places to hard, they are only 5 & 7!  Next to each prize was a number, that they had to bring back so that I knew that they had both found the prizes, a fun lesson in the art of teamwork. Even Geppetto got involved!
